About the Role
About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command (Theater) G2 Section in Fort Meade, MD.
What You'll Do
- →Performs personnel management functions, including the technical and administrative supervision of the G2 staff, reviewing performance appraisals, and recommending selections for key civilian positions.
- →Evaluates employee performance, sets performance standards, provides counseling, and implements disciplinary actions.
- →Participates in the planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating of G2 programs, and conducts internal organizational planning for structure, missions, functions, and staffing.
- →Provides authoritative and highly technical evaluations of current Army and DoD intelligence and security policies and procedures; recommends and negotiates changes on behalf of the command.
- →Develops and presents the G2's strategic plans to the command's Commanding General (CG) and subordinate command intelligence security activities.
- →Establishes G-2 intelligence, security, and counterintelligence objectives and priorities, and provides oversight and direction for security programs such as Personnel Security (PERSEC) and Information Security (INFOSEC).
- →Consults with staff to stay advised of progress, renders guidance on problems, and provides expert direction for analytical agenda.
