The Supervisory Health System Specialist position is located within the Office of High Reliability, organizationally aligned under the Office of the Medical Center Director (MCD) at the Kansas City VA Medical Center (KCVA). The incumbent oversees the Patient Safety Program at KCVA, ensures alignment with Veteran's Health Administration, Veterans Integrated Systems Network 15, and the National Center for Patient Safety while meeting internal and external accreditation requirements.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Assigns work to subordinates based on program priorities, adjusts assignments and deadlines to address emerging or urgent issues, and reallocates staff and resources as needed to support workload demands.
- →Provides leadership in workforce management by identifying training and development needs to ensure effective performance and professional growth of staff.
- →Monitors the status of assigned actions to ensure timely completion and alignment with established policies and procedures.
- →Conducts or participates in special information flow studies, analyses, presentations and briefings, as assigned.
- →Collaborates with and provides expertise to healthcare executives throughout the healthcare continuum.
- →Establishes administrative controls aimed at ensuring approved recommendations from completed Root Cause Analyses are implemented as proposed.
- →Monitors the status of assigned actions to ensure timely completion and alignment with established policies and procedures.
- →Train and coordinate patient safety activities for personnel within the facility, such as infection control professionals, risk managers, and quality managers.
- →Work Schedule: 7:30am - 4:00pm.

- →Preferred Experience: Previous supervisor experience.
