The Supervisory Health System Specialist serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team at the Atlanta VA Health Care System, providing expert guidance on healthcare operations, policies, and system improvements. The role supports the Medical Center Director by analyzing and coordinating healthcare delivery systems, managing information flow, and overseeing administrative operations. This position is a temporary detail role.
What You'll Do
- →Major Duties: Provide expert support to healthcare management through analysis, evaluation, advising, and coordination of healthcare delivery systems and operations.
- →Collaborate closely with senior leadership across VA Medical Centers, VISN, VACO, and community stakeholders.
- →Address complex healthcare problems using advanced analytical ability and specialized healthcare knowledge.
- →Act as primary liaison to multiple staff offices; manage information flow and assignment tracking from receipt to closeout.
- →Conduct and participate in studies, analyses, presentations, and briefings related to information flow and operations.
- →Performs administrative functions including HR management, budget/finance, program analysis, logistics, document control, and office support.
- →Assist with development and implementation of clinical outcome measures.
- →Review and participate in Congressional and VHA budget processes; responds to congressional inquiries.
- →Analyzes critical data and recommends corrective actions.
- →Supports research projects and academic affiliations.
- →Serves as Team Lead for special projects (e.g., hot topics, process improvements).
- →Reviews and analyze administrative and clinical practices; propose improvements.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm.
- →Work Schedule is subject to change based on agency need.
