The incumbent is based at the VA Puget Sound Healthcare System (VAPSHCS) and serves as the Supervisory Health Systems Specialist for the Nursing Service.
What You'll Do
- →Duties may include but are not limited to: Evaluates functional effectiveness of, coordinates new and/or proposed programs and initiatives, and integrates them into business practices within the service line.
- →Provides direct support and guidance to management officials by analyzing, involving, advising on and/or coordinating health care delivery systems, strategic planning, and operations.
- →Oversees and directs the flow of work related to management of the Nursing Service's human resource activities.
- →Advises and coordinates flow of work for all Equipment Inventory Lists (EIL) within the Service and oversees completion of inventories.
- →Direct responsibility for seeking and finding practical solutions that may be achieved through short or long-range planning.
- →Develops information required for policies, procedures, programs, education, research, and other special requirements specific to the service line.
- →Analyzes, extracts, summarizes, identifies, interprets, and evaluates significant trends and issues for data related to the Service Line's operations.
- →Formulates recommendations to include specific plans to address/correct deficiencies and/or increase positive accomplishments of administrative/clinical practices.
- →Directs and participates in quality improvement (QI) activities.
- →Ability to maintain effective relationships with clinical and administrative staff in a health care system, its affiliates, and stakeholders to communicate effectively and gain cooperation on complex and controversial issues.
- →Supports and manages budget and fund control points for sections within the Service Line.
- →Reviews all contracts funded by Nursing to ensure resources are available to cover needs.
- →Serves as a control point official for all Service Line fund control points (FCP) used for all contract types.
- →Develops management improvement programs or revised policy and procedures.
