The Supervisory Health System Specialist position is assigned to VISN 2 and may be physically located at any of the VISN 2 facilities.
What You'll Do
- →The incumbent is a qualified and experienced administrator, serving as the Associate Director/Operations Director of the VISN 2 Clinical Resource Hub.
- →This position coordinates administrative and clinical operations of the multiple programs, including Primary Care, Mental Health, Specialty Care, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Scheduling and ensures the provision of Clinical Resource Hub services through policy and program development, utilizing innovative approaches, technologies, and interdisciplinary collaboration both within and outside of VHA.
- →Responsibilities have a critical impact on day-to-day activities of the VISN Clinical Resource Hub Program and on the quality of patient care provided at VA Medical Centers (VAMC) and clinics supported by the Clinical Resource Hub.
- →The primary purpose of this position is to analyze, evaluate, and advise on and/or coordinate health care delivery systems and operations.
- →The position renders advice on operational policies and assures these policies are coordinated with, and in support of, field operations and VACO priorities.
- →The incumbent is expected to use initiative in organizing and accomplishing the responsibilities.
- →The incumbent works closely with senior management officials and others in implementing and evaluating policies, plans, and internal operational systems.
- →Addresses specific problem areas and applies a high degree of analytical ability and specialized healthcare knowledge to the management of healthcare delivery systems.
- →This position exercises broad latitude and provides senior expert level advice to senior personnel, and/or agency officials concerning complex, novel, and unusual healthcare issues.
- →Responsible for the full range of administrative functions that fall within assigned program areas.
- →Provides direct oversight and responsibilities for the following: Fiscal, Human Resources, Scheduling, Telehealth, C&P, Director's Office Staff Oversight, Data Management, and Strategic Planning.
- →The incumbent provides direct administrative oversight of the operation and planning associated with the coverage to 9 Health Care Systems and over 50 CBOCs within VISN 2.
- →Additionally, the incumbent serves as the liaison for OI&T, Informatics, Prosthetics Service, Biomedical Services, Logistics Service at all sites served as well.
- →The incumbent is also responsible for supervision, management and operations of all the administrative staff within the VISN 2 Clinical Resource Hub.
