This position is located in the Region 6, Grants Management Division. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience leading in Federal assistance programs, policy implementation, compliance oversight, stakeholder engagement, and leading teams to deliver effective, accountable grant operations.
What You'll Do
- →What will I do in this position if hired?
- →In this position, you will be leading and directing Federal grants management programs.
- →Typical assignments include: Interpreting and implementing grants statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- →Providing expert advice on complex grants management issues.
- →Overseeing grants administration, compliance, monitoring, audit resolution, and recipient performance.
- →Collaborating with Federal, State, Tribal, territorial, local, nonprofit, and private-sector stakeholders.
- →Supervising managers, technical specialists, or multidisciplinary teams responsible for grants management operations and program delivery.

- →At FEMA, our mission is to help people before, during and after disasters, and every employee at FEMA has a role in emergency management.
- →Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.
- →All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description.
- →Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
Requirements

- ✓As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be serving in a position in Schedule Policy/Career of the Excepted service.

- ✓Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) appeals of adverse actions concerning performance, discipline, and other matters arising under chapters 23, 43, and 75 of title 5, United States Code will not be available to an individual serving in this position.
- ✓The DHS Office of General Counsel will enforce prohibitions on prohibited personnel practices and not the Office of Special Counsel.
