This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Rucker, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence, in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training.
What You'll Do
- →Utilizes professional engineering knowledge to develop and program projects for the maintenance, repair, and improvement of the Installation's buildings structures, roads, bridges, railroads, hardstands, airfields, grounds, and utilities systems.
- →Supervises a multi-disciplined (civil, mechanical, architectural, and electrical) team of professional engineers who serve as staff technical advisors on all aspects of the buildings, grounds and utilities activities for the Installation.
- →Assigns projects to the Design Branch staff according to workload and area of expertise.
- →Coordinates the design development of projects that typically involve multiple engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, architectural, and environmental to produce a homogeneous, complete contract package.
- →Oversees project management of the design portion of the construction contract requirements for Fort Rucker, including NAF, OMA, and MCA projects and provides technical assistance to the construction phase.
- →Serves as engineering consultant and technical advisor to the Chief, Engineering Division, and to the Director of Public Works.
- →This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- →The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- →This position has a requirement to lift up to 25 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
