You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Engineering and Planning Department Code of PSNS and IMF.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the primary representative of the Engineering and Planning Department and will be responsible for guiding, coordinating, monitoring and reporting on the engineering and planning efforts for assigned projects.
- →You will coordinate Shipyard efforts associated with pre-overhaul tests, inspections, and ship-checks.
- →You will resolve issues or conflicts occurring during development of the work package, such as overlapping functions.
- →You will supervise assigned personnel assuring production and accuracy requirements are met.
- →You will work with assigned Project Management personnel to develop a Plan of Action and Milestones to guide Engineering and Planning Department efforts for successful project completion.
- →You will represent the Project Engineering Manager and the Integrated Planning Manager as necessary at all project oriented meetings involving status, performance, or progress.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
