You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the Frigate FF(X) Program Office (PMS 410), in the Deputy Portfolio Acquisition Executive Combatants (DPAE Combatants) component of Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Maritime of DPAE COMBATANTS.
What You'll Do
- →You will have mastery of and skill in applying, the art and science of two or more specialty areas of an engineering discipline sufficient to perform key decision-making and policy-developing responsibilities in difficult assignments.
- →You will have mastery knowledge and skill to plan, develop, evaluate, and execute short- and long-range programs; serve as an authoritative expert and consultant on broad programs, highly specialized fields, or industries.
- →You will have expert skill in communicating effectively orally and in writing, including the preparation and proficient presentation of briefings and talks to high-ranking military and civilian (through Senior Executive Service) managers.
- →You will have mastery knowledge and skill to formulate, evaluate, nurture, and promote the generation and exchange of new concepts, principles, methods, applications, practices, and processes.
- →You will have knowledge of Department of Defense and Department of Navy budgetary and financial management systems, and Federal procurement practices.
- →You will have the ability to supervise technical/administrative staff operations and manage programs.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
