What You'll Do
- →You will be responsible for developing tasking for various engineering programs, assessments and initiatives for Propulsion systems and their associated systems and initiatives throughout the acquisition life cycle.
- →You will provide subject matter expertise and management for planning effective inspections for orderly and timely ship maintenance availabilities.
- →You will conduct and improve advance planning, integration and control procedures for ship availabilities.
- →You will chair and attend conferences representing SURDMEPP at NAVSEA, Fleet activities, other naval commands and private contractors.
- →You will conduct special engineering data analysis for specific projects as directed by the Commander Naval Surface Forces, Fleet Forces Command, and the Naval Sea Systems Command.
- →You will direct and supervisor subordinate staff and resources to ensure timely completion and quality of assigned work.
- →You will reassign personnel between various division sections for efficiency and productivity as required by the workload.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
