What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the division's chief technical expert, providing authoritative engineering advice and oversight.
- →You will review and approve complex technical specifications, drawings, calculations, and engineering solutions to resolve critical issues.
- →You will direct long-range and annual work planning for the division.
- →You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from conception and design to execution and validation, ensuring projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
- →You will provide expert engineering support for the foundry and propeller manufacturing facility.
- →You will lead troubleshooting efforts, direct maintenance and modernization projects, and ensure the reliability and compliance of critical facility infrastructure and industrial equipment.
- →You will advise senior command leadership on all engineering matters within your purview.
- →You will lead and mentor a professional engineering and technical staff.
- →You will manage all personnel functions, including assigning work, setting priorities, evaluating technical performance, fostering professional development, and making hiring decisions.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
