You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT in the PROJECT MANAGEMENT & ENGINEERING (RCN2) of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
What You'll Do
- →You will function as a specialist in the fields of design and engineering, serving as the point of contract for coordination of all assigned projects as DoD activities, under the cognizance of the Public Works Department (PWD).
- →You will be responsible for the professional engineering and architectural expertise to produce construction contract documents through in-house capability, Architectural and Engineering contractor, or other contracting vehicles.
- →You will be in "Responsible Charge" for all architectural and engineering work performed by subordinate architects, engineers, interior designers, project managers, planners, etc.
- →You will lead design staff in performing project management roles for the project (scope, cost, and schedule) from preliminary design authorization to project closeout.
- →You will ensure that projects are tracked using appropriate NAVFAC software tools, such as the ieFACMAN suite (eProjects), and that all project records are kept current including, as applicable, DD Form 1354 requirements.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants for the Professional Engineering Series must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
- ✓Applicants for the Professional Architecture Series must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a bachelor's or higher degree in architecture.
- ✓OR Have a combination of college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the architectural principles, methods, and techniques and their applications to the design and construction or improvement of buildings.
- ✓(Note - In the absence of college courses, 5 years of such experience is required).
