About the Role
The incumbent performs developmental assignments serving as the Resident Officer in a major metropolitan center of the Region, with the responsibility for the processing of unfair labor practice and representation cases arising within the assigned geographic area, including investigation, analysis, informal disposition, settlement negotiation, compliance, and other formal and informal case processing. This is a developmental position leading to the full performance grade of GS-0905-15.
What You'll Do
- →As a Supervisory General Attorney (Labor) (Resident Officer), GS-0905-14, your typical work assignments may include: Holding responsibility for the effective administration of all Resident Office operations, ensuring cases are handled in accordance with statutory requirements and Board, General Counsel, and Regional Director policies, precedents, regulations, and procedures.
- →Reviewing reports and case files to evaluate investigation quality, case preparation, analysis, and the propriety of recommendations for action or disposition; returning cases as necessary for further investigation or reconsideration of factual or legal issues, targets are met or that there are valid reasons for any delays.
- →Recommending to the Regional Director whether election agreements should be approved and whether postponements should be granted; issuing and serving Notices of Hearing.
- →Conferring with supervisors and Board Agents on questions of fact, proof, jurisdiction, law, or Board practice, procedure, or precedent, and assists in planning the investigation, processing, or disposition of difficult cases.
- →Keeping the Regional Director informed of significant developments and making recommendations-generally accepted as authoritative-regarding personnel needs, specialized training, and case-handling policy changes specific to the area's requirements.
