About the Role
About the Position: Serves as a Company Officer for assigned Fire Stations. This position is included under the provisions of Special Retirement Coverage (SRC) and may have both a maximum entry age and a mandatory retirement date. Click here for more information on SRC for Firefighters (Secondary)
What You'll Do
- →You will assign work and/or crew assignment based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of employees.
- →You will assume command of assigned fire crews until relieved by a senior fire officer.
- →You will direct the placement of equipment, personnel, application of fire extinguishing agents and rescue of personnel.
- →You will perform firefighting duties such as handling hose, performing rescue operations, extinguishing fire, performing as a HAZ/MAT team member, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency first aid as required.
- →You will ensure personnel and equipment are in a constant state of readiness for immediate response to firefighting and rescue operations.
