About the Role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the CNRJ Fire & Emergency Services Division of COMMANDER, NAVAL REGION JAPAN. ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.
What You'll Do
- →You control and direct expenditures of allotted funds through formal requisition processes.
- →You will develop long range plans for facilities, manpower and material resources, training programs, prevention and suppression techniques.
- →You will assist, advise, and provide recommendations concerning fire protection matters to all levels of command within the areas where fire protection services are provided You will direct firefighting operations as the Installation Deputy Fire Chief for Commander Navy Region Japan (CNRJ) Fire and Emergency Services (F and ES).
Requirements
- ✓Conditions of Employment Continued: Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics.
- ✓You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
- ✓You will be required to be certified as a FIRE INSPECTOR II by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard.
- ✓You will be required to be certified as a FIRE INSTRUCTOR II by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard.
- ✓You will be required to be certified as a FIRE OFFICER IV by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard.
- ✓You will be required to be certified as a HAZARDOUS MATERIAL INCIDENT - COMMANDER by the Department of Defense (DoD), International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) or ProBoard.
- ✓You will be required to work a schedule that will consist of four 9 hour days and one 24 hour shift per week.
- ✓Additional Information Continued: ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
- ✓ICTAP candidates must provide copies of all of the following documentation at the time of application:?1) agency notice; 2) most recent performance appraisal; and 3) most recent SF-50 or notification of personnel action that includes position, grade level, and duty location.
