You will serve as a SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS ENGINEER in the F/A-18 FLEET SUPPORT TEAM, AVIONICS BRANCH of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
What You'll Do
- →You will interview candidates, evaluate subordinate work performance, and ensure full compliance with equal employment opportunity policies.
- →You will adjust team schedules and short-term work priorities to adapt to unpredictable changes in program funding and requirements.
- →You will modify standard engineering guides, policies, and precedents to establish authorizing requirements for complex system modifications.
- →You will resolve conflicting technical, logistical, and administrative issues to maintain intended mission capability and safety of flight.
- →You will lead technical meetings, deliver briefings, and serve as the primary engineering spokesperson for your specific program area.
- →You will anticipate the impact of emerging technological changes and devise the hands-on engineering approach to integrate them into assigned systems.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
