YOU WILL SERVE AS A SUPERVISORY ELECTRONICS ENGINEER IN THE AIRCRAFT PROTOTYPE SYSTEMS DIVISION OF NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
What You'll Do
- →You will perform research, development, and life-cycle support for avionics and weapons systems slated for or installed on advanced naval tactical aircraft.
- →You will perform system engineering tasks of defining system requirements and architectures, developing plans and schedules, provide management and support throughout the aircraft life cycle including advanced development and in-service engineering.
- →You will perform system integration, test and analysis necessary to transform operational needs into avionics system descriptions, integrate related technical engineering specialties, and coordinate the efforts of other engineering disciplines.
- →You will coordinate the efforts of three or more employees, establishing long-term task priorities, determines work procedures and methods, and guides employees and/or supervisors’ work You will review the work in progress in the Branch on a continuing basis, furnishing technical guidance when required and assumes both technical and administrative responsibility for the accomplishment of the work.
- →You will review completed work for attainment of original objectives, for validity of engineering interpretations and for compliance with established local Navy policies and procedures.
Requirements
- ✓EDUCATION IS NOT SUBSTITUTABLE FOR EXPERIENCE AT THIS GRADE LEVEL, BUT THIS POSITION DOES HAVE AN EDUCATION REQUIREMENT AND YOU MUST MEET THAT REQUIREMENT.
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
