About the Role
The Chief of the Economic and Policy Analysis Staff, serves as the primary source of advice to the Administrator and other APHIS senior leaders regarding economic and policy analyses. Also, serves as the APHIS liaison for economic analyses with various policy staffs of the Department and with the Office of Management and Budget. Also, serves as the primary source of expertise on cost-benefit analysis and other economic methodologies in support of policy development and planning.
What You'll Do
- →The duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides economic policy advice and serves as APHIS liaison to other economics units throughout USDA.
- →Oversees APHIS economic analysis to support rulemakings and defend the analysis in Department and OMB reviews.
- →Conducts APHIS economic and trade analyses, supports interagency efforts, adapts to shifting priorities and provides recommendations to leadership.
- →Leads APHIS program benefit studies and works with units to develop performance measures supporting Government Performance Results Act (GPRA) and improving operations.
- →Reviews analytical reports from staff, contractors and others in USDA.
- →Supervises APHIS Economic and Policy Analyses Staff to ensure, among other requirements they use current data and sound analytical methods.
- →Other duties as assigned.
