About the Role
This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity, Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Director managing and overseeing the entire Contracting Directorate as well as performing Competition Advocate duties. Serving as the approval authority for acquisitions by DoD and Civilian contracting offices. This job will close when we have received 50 applications, which may be sooner than the closing date.
What You'll Do
- →This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated October 15, 2021.
- →As a Supervisory Contracting Officer at the GS-1102-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the Deputy Director of Contracting, assisting in the leadership, management, and oversight of the Directorate, and acting with full authority for the Director during absences.
- →Provides executive oversight of the organization's acquisition portfolio, reviewing and approving complex contracting actions, acquisition strategies, and procurement decisions to ensure policy compliance.
- →Directs and supervises acquisition personnel and subordinate supervisors; establishes priorities, manages performance, and ensures effective execution of contracting operations.
- →Advises the Director and senior leaders on complex acquisition issues, policy, execution, interagency acquisitions, grants, and cooperative agreements affecting the overall mission.
- →Exercises final approval authority for assisted and interagency acquisitions, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls.
- →Promotes commercial practices, identifies barriers to competition, and implements procurement process improvements and innovations.
- →Represents the organization before senior government officials, industry partners, and key stakeholders to negotiate critical acquisition matters and resolve complex issues.
