You will serve as a Supervisory Contract Specialist in the Contract Department of MARINE CORPS LOGISTICS COMMAND.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as the Deputy Director on strategic acquisition matters, provides leadership policy, guidance, and direction to the staff, as well as coordination of the long and short-range planning efforts to constituent organizations.
- →You will be responsible for assisting the Director in planning, coordinating, and directing the administrative, management and technical activities of the Contracts Department.
- →You will be responsible for providing advice on request or as need is perceived to the Director, Commanders and their staffs on Impact of procurement issues/problems or techniques on command policy or programs.
- →You will be responsible for the decision affecting the overall management of the Command in areas as program milestoning and resource allocation, both contractually and internally You will be responsible for making procurement decisions, recommendations, and department resources commitments to higher echelons and other Government activities on behalf of the Command.
- →You will be responsible for managing day-to-day functions of the department and exercises the full range of supervisory and personnel management authorities and responsibilities in directing the work of the subordinates staff and development.
- →You will be responsible for serving as focal point for all matters pertaining to contracts support and supply end service requirements, information technology assets and services and requirement of multiple external customers.
- →You will lead a diverse workforce, identify training needs, and motivating multiple levels of personnel to have a high level of detail.
- →You will initiate and recommend contracting policy and procedures for guidance and control of contracting activities.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
- ✓NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000.
- ✓Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement.
- ✓Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
- ✓A 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management.
