About the Role
You will serve as a SUPERVISORY CONTRACT SPECIALIST in the ACQUISITION DIVISION of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.
What You'll Do
- →You will be responsible for all contracts issued under the authority of the Echelon IV or Echelon III Command.
- →You will be is accountable for the Acquisition Department’s overall effectiveness and compliance with the applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
- →You will serve as the Command's principal consultant on contractual matters and senior contracting approval authority.
- →You will provide expert advice to senior level officials, military and or civilian personnel from DON, DOD, other Federal Agencies and senior industry management officials on matters of procurement, policy or best practices.
- →You will represent the Command in various high level conferences, meetings and or panel sessions on matters related to NAVFAC product and services.
- →You will serve as the Acquisition Community Manager for all Contract Specialists in the Command Area of Responsibility ensuring the right people with the right skills are in place for successful execution of acquisition responsibilities.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following Basic Education Requirement of the Department of Defense Qualification Standard for Contracting Positions: A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
- ✓NOTE: The education requirement listed above applies only to individuals entering DoD GS-1102 positions on or after October 1, 2000.
- ✓Current civilian personnel in DoD who occupied GS-1102 positions or contracting positions with authority to award or administer contracts above the simplified acquisition threshold in an Executive Department on or before September 30, 2000 are exempt from meeting this requirement.
- ✓Current military members who occupied a similar occupational specialty to the GS (or equivalent) 1102 or before September 30, 2000 are also exempt from meeting this requirement.
