About the Role
This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. Position is being recruited based on the Title 21, Pay Table 7, Band F (equivalent to GS-15+).
What You'll Do
- →This position serves as a first and second level supervisor (over the Divisions) with joint authority over the substantive acquisitions, programs, mission, and functions of OAGS.
- →Serves as a Deputy Office Director and Deputy Head of Contracting Activity, within OAGS reporting to the Director/Head of Contracting Activity.
- →Provides overall acquisition and policy direction, leadership, and oversight of day-to-day functional activities of OAGS.
- →Plans, organizes, and directs all functions (Contracts, Grants, Technology Transfer Program, and Purchase Card) and services of OAGS which includes establishing short-term and long-term goals, strategic and operational plans, and assisting program offices and their plans and priorities for the various FDA Centers, Offices, and Programs (COPs) in which they serve.
- →In situations where disagreements evolved between key officials, such as Division Directors, contracting officers, and program officials within the FDA, the Deputy Office Director is expected to serve as an arbitrator.
- →This position also collaborates with leaders and counterparts across FDA and the Department to ensure that the OAGS' objectives and policies are compatible with the needs, goals, and policies of OFBA and the FDA.
