About the Role
This position is located in Pathology and Lab Medical Service, Boise VA Medical Center, Boise, ID. This position provides support to lab staff, pathologists, providers and patients. The incumbent has full supervisory responsibility for a staff of nonsupervisory personnel.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Plans and schedules on-going work.
- →Adjusts staffing levels or work procedures.
- →Chooses methods for achieving work goals, objectives, and management strategies.
- →Day-to-day supervision of highly complex test performance.
- →Is responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable levels of performance.
- →Assures corrective action is initiated when test performance deviates from established performance specifications.
- →Assures orientation, training, and competency assessment of staff.
- →Implements and monitors quality management activities.
- →Ensures compliance with rules and regulations of assorted regulatory agencies such as CAP, JCAHO, AABB, FDA, and OSHA.
- →Responsible for all quality control, performance improvement, and proficiency program activities for the appropriate laboratory specialty.
- →Performs the full range of supervisory duties.
- →Recommends appointment, plans and assigns work, gives advice and counsel, and evaluates work of subordinates.
- →Performs the full range of laboratory testing, including duty on weekends, holidays, nights, and call-back.
- →Incumbent may be assigned to rotate to different areas of the laboratory at times of peak workload.
