About the Role
About the Position: This position is located in Landstuhl, Germany at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center. This position as a Supervisory Clinical Laboratory Scientist ensures routine, emergency, and special category tests and examinations are properly performed and meet all standards established by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), The Joint Commission (TJC), and other applicable accrediting agencies. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Provides technical expertise and supervision for multiple clinical laboratory departments within the Medical Treatment Facility.
- →Solves highly complex testing problems and performs specialized laboratory procedures to improve and expand services.
- →Develops, reviews, and implements standard operating procedures, including reference values and acceptable limits.
- →Maintains the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS) across pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic testing phases.
- →Ensures all routine, emergency, and special category tests are performed in compliance with established accrediting agency standards.
- →Troubleshoots test kits, reagents, and equipment to determine causes of unacceptable performance or results.
- →Instructs laboratory personnel in the theoretical and practical aspects of medical technology, safety, and hygiene.
- →Exercises full supervisory personnel management responsibilities, including selecting candidates, evaluating performance, and resolving grievances.
- →Plans, schedules, and assigns laboratory work to subordinate staff while balancing workloads to meet customer needs.
- →Represents the laboratory with external installation organizations and coordinates on joint initiatives and special projects.
