Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Office of the Executive Assistant Commissioner, located in Washington, D.C. This announcement will be open for five business days OR until the first 100 applications have been received, whichever happens first.
What You'll Do
- →Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to manage one or more national programs in order to help to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering/exiting the U.S.
- →Apply for this exciting opportunity to direct programs that strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security.
- →This position starts at a salary of $173,968.00 (GS-15, Step 1) to$197,200.00 (GS-15, Step 10).
- →Typical duties include: Advising all levels of OFO Senior leadership on operational, programmatic, policy and procedural issues of interest to OFO and CBP and serving as a liaison between the Executive Assistant Commissioner (EAC) for OFO and all other OFO Headquarters Divisions.
- →Directing support to the OFO EAC by serving as the main point of contact for all matters that require EAC review.
- →Representing the EAC of OFO in meetings and conferences involving high level officials from other Federal agencies, business and industry executives and stakeholders, and representatives of various private sector groups.
- →Reviewing work output of HQ Divisions to ensure content and format meet quality standards; recommending if proposals should be endorsed, changed or presented to the EAC and when necessary, determining if legal advice or other expert opinion is needed.
- →Developing tracking mechanisms to ensure timely implementation of programs and policies; balancing conflicting priorities in a mission based environment.
- →If going from a LEO Covered Position to a Secondary CBPO Special Retirement Covered (SRC) Position: Please be advised that when you enter on duty in this Secondary CBPO SRC position you will no longer be covered under the Special Retirement System for Law Enforcement Officers, but will only be covered under the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS).

Requirements

- ✓Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess the Ability to operate a Government Owned Vehicle.
