Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Operations Support, Law Enforcement Safety and Compliance Directorate (LESC) located in Harpers Ferry, WV. Further selections may also be made for additional organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

- →This position will allow you to use your expertise to prevent illegal entry of aliens into the United States by land, water, or air; enforce criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Laws; and seek out and apprehend smugglers or aliens who are in the United States illegally.

- →LESC's mission is to optimize the safety, readiness, accountability, and operational performance of CBP law enforcement personnel through developing use of force policy, maintaining appropriate controls and standards, and supplying the highest quality education and training, weapons, and other officer-safety equipment.
- →This position supports this mission in the capacity of a Supervisory CBP Officer (SCBPO) first-line supervisor in directing and administering unique training operations and programs at the LESC.
- →This position starts at a salary of $125,158.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to$162,708.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
- →Typical duties include: Planning and developing training curriculum, course material and delivering instruction on use of force, firearms, and less-lethal devices and facilitating all aspects of training delivery for advanced training and/or continuing education.
- →Instructing, supervising and evaluating students enrolled in advanced and/or specialized training programs.
- →Providing technical advice and guidance, researching and analyzing use of force policy and procedure documents to demonstrate compliance to training standards and the accreditation process.
- →Overseeing, coordinating, and evaluating overall educational program activities and implementation of agency-specific use of force and training guidelines.
- →Performing long-range planning and management of new substantive training programs.
- →If going from a LEO Covered Position to a Secondary CBPO Special Retirement Covered (SRC) Position: Please be advised that when you enter on duty in this Secondary CBPO SRC position you will no longer be covered under the Special Retirement System for Law Enforcement Officers, but will only be covered under the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS).

- →Temporary/Rotational Assignment: To meet agency needs, this position will be filled on a temporary basis not-to-exceed (NTE) three year(s), with possible extension(s) for an additional two year(s) in oneyear increments.
- →You may be returned, at any time, to the position you held prior to this temporary promotion, or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay, and the return is not subject to the procedures found in 5 C.F.R. §§ 351,432, 752, and 771.
Requirements

- ✓Motor Vehicle Operation: You must possess the Ability to operate a Government Owned Vehicle.
- ✓A valid, non-restricted driver's license is required.
