About the Role
Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, International Operations and Advisory Directorate (IOAD), International Field Office, Preclearance, located in Vancouver, Canada.
What You'll Do
- →Joining the Customs and Border Protection Office of Field Operations will allow you to use your expertise to manage one or more national programs in order to help to detect and prevent terrorists and instruments of terror from entering/exiting the U.S.
- →Apply for this exciting opportunity to direct programs that strengthen the Department's ability to perform homeland security.
- →This position starts at a salary of $110,422.00 (GS-14 Step 1) to $143,553.00 (GS-14, Step 10).

- →Typical work assignments include.
- →Interpreting the laws and regulations of a broad range of Federal, state, and local agencies, relating to the admissibility of people, cargo, conveyances; international mail compliance; and the arrival and departure of vessels and aircraft.
- →Maintaining effective, productive, and collaborative relationships with other Federal, state, and local law enforcement entities and a broad range of stakeholders including port authorities, carriers, and trade associations.
- →Directing the development and deployment of local special operations aimed at addressing high- risk areas of concern and ensuring enforcement resources are dedicated to anti-terrorism and border security mission priorities.
- →Ensuring passenger processing and border security goals are met through use of advanced inspection technologies and the full range of enforcement skills and resources including interviewing, examinations, targeting, intelligence, non-intrusive inspection equipment, radiation detection devices, and canine enforcement teams.
- →Supporting Trusted Traveler Programs through oversight of local Enrollment Centers and prioritization of program members during the inspection process without compromising border security.
- →Note: Candidates that apply to this location will be considered as Supervisory CBP Officer 2nd Line positions become available over the next two (2) years.
- →Upon selection of an applicant, and if no entrance on duty date (EOD) has been set within 2 years, the tentative offer would expire (the 2-year period will begin after the completion of all requirements for the overseas assignment) and candidates would need to apply again for consideration.

- ✓Physical Fitness Test: You will be required to successfully pass the Pre-employment Fitness Test.

- ✓Basic Training: You may be required to attend approximately 18 weeks of training at the CBP Academy at FLETC.
- ✓Candidates selected for certain duty locations may receive an additional 6 weeks of Spanish language training.
- ✓Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP.
- ✓Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years.
