About the Role

Directs the work of subordinate employees and managers for the Operations Support Group. Integrates work of multiple organizations to meet strategic goals of the organization and the FAA, participates in strategic planning for the FAA, and makes commitments (program, budget, etc.) for Operations Support Group.

What You'll Do

  • Applies detailed knowledge of the technical aspects of the work directed, applies detailed knowledge of ATO budget, personnel and other administrative policies and procedures, and applies a comprehensive understanding of the objectives of the organization.
  • Provides airspace analysis support, manages airspace improvement projects, and provides air traffic procedures development support.
  • Performs airspace modeling and simulations.
  • Provides facilities and project proponents with leadership and guidance through the NAS redesign process.
  • Defines, acquires, and allocates budget, staff, and other resources to accomplish objectives for multiple organizational units/projects/programs and across multiple functions and/or disciplines.
  • Manages budget reporting for the Service Area projects.
  • Leads and integrates the budget planning processes for all organizational units/projects/programs under his/her control, and projects both short-term and long-term future needs.
  • Participates in planning efforts that cross organizational lines within the Service Area.
  • Contacts are routinely internal and external.
  • Internal contacts are with subordinates, peers, and higher level management to discuss the statuses and results of projects/programs and plan for the future.
  • Serves as an advocate for project approval at the national level.
  • Maintains standardization in the procedures review process by coordinating kick-off meetings.
  • Facilitates RNAV working group review.
  • Provides support for the national prioritization of instrument flight procedure production.
