About the Role
This position is located in the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation's (PBGC), Office of Negotiations Restructuring (ONR), Plan Compliance Department (PCD), Standard Termination Compliance Division (STCD).
What You'll Do
- →The candidate selected for this position will: Review and approve standard termination statistical and compliance audits including audits of benefit calculations (i.e. reviewing validity of actuarial computations and documents supporting benefit calculations), performed by staff auditors.
- →Serve as technical expert and resource to the staff by providing guidance, training, and advice regarding interpretation of the provisions of ERISA.
- →Serve as a liaison for communication of standard termination audit and compliance information and decisions between Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Department of Labor (DOL) and other agencies.
Requirements
- ✓In addition to meeting the specialized experience the following education is required: Degree: accounting, auditing; or a degree including auditing courses in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- ✓The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law.
- ✓OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
- ✓The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality.
