This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →This position is in the Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Service of the VA Northern California Health Care System (VANCHCS).
- →The incumbent is responsible for assisting the service chief in leading the Audiology and SpeechLanguage Pathology service, in conjunction with assisting section chiefs in this pursuit.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: The incumbent serves as a consultant to other facility personnel on difficult or complex cases and may function as a subject matter expert within their clinical domain.
- →The clinician is expected to remain current with developments in the field and maintain professional competency through reading professional literature, participating in continuing education, engaging in professional development activities, and collaborating with colleagues in related disciplines.
- →Strong professional interpersonal communication is required.
- →The incumbent is expected to attend staff meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings, review policies and procedures, and participate in in-service training as appropriate.
- →The clinician may participate in research activities related to their professional field.
- →While extensive research may not be common in the clinical setting, the use of carefully executed procedures may contribute to research efforts, and the incumbent may be asked to assist in gathering clinical data.
- →The incumbent may perform ancillary assignments, including occasional program management duties, when the complexity and workload are not substantial.

Requirements
