About the Role
You will serve as a Supervisory Astronomer in the Celestial Reference Frame Department of NAVOBSERV.
What You'll Do
- →You will perform supervisory duties such as timekeeping, budget submissions, and work scheduling.
- →You will be principally responsible for the development and execution of Advance Technology Division (ATD) programs and projects.
- →You will initiate, and guide new and complex research.
- →You will conceive, organize and analyze experiments in astronomy and astrophysics and related scientific and engineering disciplines to evaluate the limits in the accuracy of given measurement systems.
- →You will devise novel methods of analyzing and presenting Celestial Reference Frame (CRF) and related data.
- →You will measure the precise positions, motions, brightnesses of the celestial bodies, maintain the celestial reference frame, and calculate Earth orientation parameters.

- ✓Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Degree: in one or a combination of astronomy, physics, mathematics, space science, or electronics.
