About the Role
Northern Arizona VA Health Care System is looking for a Supervisory Assistant Nurse Manager to join the Nursing PeriOperative Service! The Supervisory Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) supports the Nurse Manager (NM) in overseeing operations of a nursing unit/patient care area. Fosters team development, ensures compliance with standards of clinical practice, and serves as a key liaison between staff and leadership.
What You'll Do
- →About the Position: This role combines clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities and is often considered part of the succession plan for future NM positions, providing opportunities to develop management skills and prepare for higher-level leadership.
- →Functions as a clinical expert and is responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing or overseeing direct patient care.
- →Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates delivery of care based on age specific components.
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Demonstrates sound decision-making and judgment and possess excellent interpersonal skills.
- →Self-directed and influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and leading innovative process improvement initiatives.
- →This position potentially requires flexibility in schedule and assignments, as this is a 24/7 hospital.
- →Some positions require rotation of tours or indefinite work on non-administrative tours as established by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
