You will serve as a SUPERVISORY AEROSPACE ENGINEER in the F/A-18 FLEET SUPPORT TEAM, STRUCTURES ENGINEERING DIVISION, PRODUCTION LINE SUPPORT BRANCH of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a manager, technical advisor, and spokesperson for Structures Engineering.
- →You will advise and collaborate with all levels of industry officials concerning aircraft programs, policies and procedures to determine the impact /requirements of current or proposed initiatives and coordinate program and process related changes.
- →You will assist in the development and execute the planning, directing, and prioritizing of activities requiring routine adaptation to frequent and unpredictable changes in programs and funds.
- →You will provide resources and processes to support and maintain the mission capability, maintain inherent design capabilities of the system at the minimum expenditure of resources, preserve the planned operational life, and achieve readiness goals.
- →You will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work.
- →You will resolve complaints from employees, collaborating with Human Resources and Union representatives where appropriate, and refer group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to the next supervisory level.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Successful completion of a professional engineering degree.
- ✓Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
- ✓OR Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

- ✓OR Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above).
- ✓Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
