What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Statistician and be responsible for providing statistical information to all divisions within the Office as well as to boating safety professionals nationwide; coordinating the development of risk-based measures of program effectiveness; and also serving as the boating accident report data coordinator/analyst..
- →Being a Coast Guard (CG) civilian makes you a valuable member of the CG team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Coordinating the collection and analysis of boating incident report data for the fifty States, five U.S.
- →Territories and the District of Columbia.
- →Writing policy guidelines for staff analysts who collect, abstract, and import State accident data.
- →Managing the National Boating Accident Report Database (BARD) System.
- →Conducting statistical analyses of accident data, prepares clear analytical reports, responding to data inquiries, and presenting findings to senior leadership to explain key boating accident trends.
- →Compiling all statistics and serving as the author of the Coast Guard Boating Statistics report.
- →Serving as the USCG liaison of a NASBLA committee (ERAC).
- →Coordinating and performing special and complex boating accident studies on causes of accidents, education, boat manufacturing, and regulatory purposes.
