Staff Psychologist (Women's Health)

About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include but are not limited to: Works as a part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Women's Health Clinic/Program, providing various assessment, therapy, and rehabilitative services for Veterans with a wide range of substance use and mental health disorders.
- →Provides a wide range of psycho-diagnostic services including, but not limited to, comprehensive psychological assessments, psychological testing and interpretation, and use of the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques to provide quality care to a wide range of patient populations, including specific patient populations.
- →Provides assessment and treatment services in a full continuum of clinical settings and modalities to include individual, group, couples/family therapy, video telehealth, telephonic, and face-to-face care formats.
- →Participates on an interdisciplinary team to review gender affirming consults.
- →Makes use of evidence-based treatments for a wide range of patient populations and psychiatric conditions covered in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th Edition (DSM-V).
- →Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients with the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
- →Participates in treatment team meetings with patients and interdisciplinary staff to recommend and review treatment plans.
- →Provides education to patients, family members, and significant others as needed.
- →Provides consultation and advise to professional staff within the SAVAHCS and to community providers, concerning clinical assessment findings, appropriate treatment plans for patients, and patient care issues.
- →Responsible for timely completion of clinical reminders, consults, return to clinic orders, open encounters, documentation, secure messages, patient correspondence, and other clinical-administrative requirements as required by the MHS, Medical Center or healthcare system, and/or VA.
- →Returns patient phone calls and provides guidance to patients on treatment options in a timely manner.
- →Accomplishes suicide risk screenings, risk assessments, safety plans, behavior reports, and other processes relevant to suicide prevention standards.
- →Provides case management for identified populations as indicated.
- →If fully licensed, functions independently as a member of the SAVAHCS Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges as requested and approved during the credentialing process.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
