About the Role

The incumbent will serve in the Outpatient Mental Health Clinic as a member of an interdisciplinary BHIP team. The psychologist will consult with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.

What You'll Do

  • This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
  • You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
  • Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
  • VA Careers - Psychologist: https://youtube.com/embed/77qHlLw9Xck Major Duties: Staff Psychologist GS-11: Conduct screening, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders with an emphasis on the application of goal-oriented, evidence-based approaches.
  • Administer, score, and review rating scales, questionnaires or other measurement based tools in an effort to assess emotional, functional or psychological conditions as well as establish Veteran-focused, individualized, treatment planning.
  • Administer and/or evaluate results of a full range of psychodiagnostic, intelligence, or personalities assessments and tests.
  • The incumbent will utilize interview data, comprehensive assessments, and observations in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders.
  • Provide psychological prevention services for those at significant risk for psychological problems.
  • Staff Psychologist GS-12: Conduct screening, assessment, diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders with an emphasis on the application of goal-oriented, evidence-based approaches.
  • Administer, score, and review rating scales, questionnaires or other measurement based tools in an effort to assess emotional, functional or psychological conditions as well as establish Veteran-focused, individualized, treatment planning.
  • Administer and/or evaluate results of a full range of psychodiagnostic, intelligence, or personalities assessments and tests.
  • The incumbent will utilize interview data, comprehensive assessments, and observations in diagnosing and treating mental health disorders.
  • Provide psychological prevention services for those at significant risk for psychological problems.
  • Staff Psychologist at the full performance level of the GS-13.
