About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

- →The Staff Psychologist is assigned to the substance use disorders (SUD) section, including the opioid treatment program (OTR).
- →Clinical Responsibilities: Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care.
- →Performs evaluations for patients in the SUD section.
- →Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions for patients in SUD section.
- →Consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues.
- →Staff psychologists may be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities.
- →Provides collateral supervisory duties primarily for non-professional staff although a small number of professional staff may be supervised as well (i.e., less than three).
- →May be assigned to any program area and may be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities.
- →Primary role is in the SUD section and OTP.
- →Provides assessment and treatment services in a full continuum of clinical settings and modalities to include individual and group therapy, video telehealth, and face-to-face care formats.
- →Utilizes evidence-based treatments for a full range of patient populations and psychiatric conditions covered in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, 5th Edition (DSM-V).
- →Develops, implements, and documents the psychotherapeutic treatment plan for an assigned caseload of patients with the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
- →Work Schedule: Monday through Friday: 8 am to 4:30 pm Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized EDRP Authorized: Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply for incentive.
