About the Role

The incumbent will serve as a Health Psychologist for the MOVE! Program at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center and it's corresponding VA Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).

What You'll Do

  • This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
  • You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
  • Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • Psychologist is responsible for collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including dietitians, nurses, nurse practitioners, exercise physiologists, physicians, and other therapists.
  • This role supports weight management and health promotion for Veterans.
  • Facilitates the management and delivery of services.
  • Collaborates with the VA medical facility interdisciplinary MOVE! weight management team.
  • Attends National and VISN level monthly MOVE! meetings.
  • Promotes and maintains effective working relationships with all staff and significant parties at the national, state, and local level.
  • Directs or participates in the design of studies, collects data, conducts statistical analysis, interprets findings, and translates results into written and oral communications.
  • Serves, in collaboration with the VA medical facility MOVE!
  • Provider Champion and other clinical content experts, as a subject matter expert to provide education and consultation on evidence-based weight management services and interventions, including pharmacotherapy and metabolic and bariatric surgery.
  • Provides information about training opportunities, such as MOVE!
