About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
What You'll Do
- →The VISN Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) Tele-GEM/Testing Psychologist position is a VISN-based position located in VISN 4.
- →This Geriatric Care Staff Psychologist position is under the general supervision of the Specialty Care-Geriatric CRH Program Manager, in collaboration with the Supervisory Psychology Program Manager and the TMH section.
- →A Clinical Resource Hub (CRH) is a repository of clinical and administrative staff who serve Veterans Affairs facilities within a Veterans Integrated System Network (VISN).
- →Staff within the CRH are expected to provide interprofessional services to VISN facilities that are underserved or experiencing clinician gaps due to an inability to match provider supply with demand.
- →Services provided by CRH staff are delivered through multiple modalities, including virtual and in-person care.
- →Clinical Video Telehealth (CVT) is the primary modality for treatment, with VA Video Connect (WC) and telephone modalities also used.
- →Major duties include, but are not limited to: Provides a full range of psychodiagnostics services, emphasizing functional assessments, and uses the most appropriate techniques to deliver quality care to Veterans served by the Tele-GEM and TMH Programs, including services for patients with cognitive decline, often with co-occurring medical and psychiatric conditions, or complex functional barriers.
- →Demonstrates expertise in applying contemporary interview and psychometric assessment methods for behavioral health conditions and/or mental disorders.
- →Provides education and feedback to patients and family members regarding testing outcomes, recommendations, and best-practice treatment approaches.
- →Provides evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions as indicated and appropriate for the psychologist's specific job setting and duties, which may include individual, family, and group psychotherapy and psychoeducation.
- →Provides consultation to health care providers regarding assessment findings and treatment plans for patients to ensure that care is coordinated, collaborative, and integrated within the patient's care team.
- →Provides clinical care coordination, as indicated and appropriate, for the specific job setting and duties of the psychologist.
- →Complies with all Service Line documentation requirements, including standards for timely completion of CPRS patient contact notes, use of required documentation templates, clinical reminders, treatment plans, and risk assessment protocols.
- →Adheres to all Facility and Service Line policies and practices for delivering clinical care, including, but not limited to, risk assessment and reduction practices for potentially dangerous behavior (suicide and violence), timeliness of care and access standards, professional conduct requirements, and CPRS documentation conventions.
