About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →This position functions as a psychologist for the Trauma Recovery Division of the Mental Health Care Line (MHCL) at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center.
- →This division, located in Fort Thomas, KY, is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, evidence-based program consisting of both outpatient and residential services directed towards assisting Veterans with trauma and stress-related conditions.
- →Duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides a full range of psychological assessments, therapeutic and psycho educational interventions and consultative services.
- →Provides a full range of psychological services, consulting with peers and supervisors as appropriate.
- →Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions including Cognitive Behavioral group and individual evidenced-based therapies for PTSD and other trauma/stressor related disorders as well as provides adjunctive interventions for treatment of associated medical disorders.
- →Provides advice to other staff in an attempt to promote and preserve a therapeutic environment for individual patients.
- →Provides advice regarding appropriate staff responses toward a patient or specific environmental factors that will stimulate more self reliance, reduce distress/symptoms or achieve more socially adaptable behavior patterns.
- →The incumbent is expected to be involved with the Psychology Training Program and Training Committee including clinical supervision of Psychology The incumbent participates in program monitors and outcome measurements within programs using data-driven quality assurance processes.
- →Is responsible for the timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by Medical Center or healthcare system, as appropriate.
- →Actively participates in leadership roles on local, state and national professional organizations.
- →Performs other duties as assigned.
