About the Role
The Staff Psychologist position is within the Mental Health & Behavioral Science Service (MHBSS) line at the Providence VA Healthcare Systems (VAPHS) in Providence, Rhode Island. This position is full-time at 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do
- →This work may include any of the following: providing professional clinical services, conducting research, carrying out education and training activities, carrying out program evaluation activities, clinical consultation, supervision and administration.
- →The duties of the position include but are not limited to: Provides brief, evidence-based assessment and treatment for Veterans as part of Primary Care Mental Health Integration Provides a full range of psychological assessment services and diagnoses mental disorders.
- →Provides education to patients, family members, and significant others.
- →Provides comprehensive, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
- →Provides consultation to professional staff within PVAMC and to community providers concerning clinical assessments and findings and appropriate treatment plans.
- →Functions independently as a member of the VAPHCS Medical Staff, with full clinical privileges.
- →Assumes complete processional responsibility for clinical assessment findings, patient care decisions, and documentation.
- →Facilitates and liaisons with other health care programs in order to effectively coordinate services.
- →May provide clinical supervision to trainees as available.
- →Work Schedule: Full-Time, Mon-Fri, 8:00am-4:30pm.
