About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

  • Duties include providing diagnostic interviews, assessments, and group and individual psychotherapy, including telemental health, for adult patients.
  • Additional responsibilities include multidisciplinary consultation and treatment team participation, community outreach, and participation in the psychology practicum student, intern and postdoctoral fellow training program (i.e., teaching seminars, supervising practicum students and interns, etc.).
  • Clinical Responsibilities 1.
  • Ability to diagnose mental disorders with emphases on addiction disorders and conduct psychological and/or cognitive screening assessments. 2.
  • Ability to treat mental disorders with emphases on addiction disorders through a variety of evidence-based modalities and provide adjunctive interventions for treatment of medical disorders. 3.
  • Provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and using the most appropriate psychotherapeutic techniques in providing quality care. 4.
  • Performs evaluations for psychodiagnosis, treatment planning and functional evaluations. 5.
  • Provides a full range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions including individual and group psychotherapy, family therapy, consultation, rehabilitation and psychoeducation. 6.
  • Consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues. 7.
  • Staff clinical psychologists may be involved in program evaluation and/or research activities. 8.
  • Ability to provide treatment planning in multi-disciplinary environment.

  • Provides training and clinical supervision to psychology trainees, psychology technicians and unlicensed psychologists. 2.
