About the Role
This FEE BASIS Speech-Language Pathologist position is located in the Audiology and Speech Pathology Service at the Dayton VA Medical Center. Compensation will be paid by exam/task/service per shift. The duties and responsibilities are carried out throughout the medical center including all clinical and other patient care areas involved with the service.
What You'll Do
- →The speech-language pathologist at this level plans, conducts, and coordinates all aspects of diagnostic assessments and evaluations and therapeutic and rehabilitative services for speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Conducts independent diagnostic assessment and evaluation of cases.
- →Administers and interprets the diagnostic test necessary to detect and evaluate any type of speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive, and/or swallowing disorders.
- →Conduct interviews with the patients and appropriate family members and/or friends.
- →Plan, conducting, coordinating, and monitoring the effectiveness and clinical outcomes.
- →Develops an effective and comprehensive plan of care for swallowing disorders in collaboration with other health care practitioners.
- →Adjusts treatment plan to patient response and indicators of progress.
- →Consultant to other facility personnel involving the most difficult and complex cases.
- →Utilized all diagnostic and evaluative procedures and techniques consistent with contemporary speech-language pathology practice.

- →Functional Statement #: 91694-A Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized Fee Basis Rate & Service: $12 Non-Treatment Visit (Inpatient is unable to complete services).
- →Non-treatment visit location notes with justification required. $65 Procedures $65 Swallowing Evals/ Cognitive Therapy $60 Interdisciplinary Team Meetings $300 Lump Sum Oracle EHR Training.
- →Payment made after all modules have been successfully completed.
Requirements
