About the Role
Works for the Central Virgini a VA Health Care System, Fredericksburg Health Care Center (FxHCC) and is assigned to the Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP). Duty location is 10432 Patriot Highway, Fredericksburg, VA 22408-2628
What You'll Do
- →Assigned to the SATP Opioid Treatment Program, provides assessment, diagnosis, comprehensive case management, and psychotherapy services to Veteran's with opioid use disorders (OUD) who are engaged with SATP and the Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).
- →Functions as an integral part of the interdisciplinary treatment team (DT), providing patient centered, evidence based, treatment.
- →Works collaboratively with the treatment team, VA and community health care providers, and the Veteran to increase adherence to the treatment plan, treat underlying mental health conditions that rein force or maintain use behavior, and identify and address any psychosocial barriers to recovery.
- →Has training and experience working with OUD in special populations such as women, patients with co-occurring mental health disorders, patients with complex pain, patients with serious medical conditions, patients with legal involvement, and/or patients with a history of traumatic exposures.
- →The pharmacotherapy utilized to treat OUD i s highly controlled and monitored.
- →Responsible for maintaining a variety of databases critical to the functioning on the program and for monitoring patient attendance and, incoordination with the medical director, reviewing and responding to positive urine drug screen results.
- →Performs other directly related duties as assigned.
