About the Role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
What You'll Do
- →The incumbent serves as a Social Work Program Coordinator in a Supervisory role providing leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, and staff development for assigned staff.
- →Supervisory role also includes overseeing the Caregiver Support Program's (CSP) service delivery and coordination of care activities for family caregivers who provide personal care services to eligible Veterans.
- →The CSP includes the Program Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) and the Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) at the VA Health Care System.
- →Job duties include but are not limited to: Oversees the daily operations of the CSP Program, develops policies and procedures for program operation, and prepares reports and statistic for facility, VISN and national use.
- →Establishes and maintains an ongoing education program or Veterans, caregivers, community agencies, students and staff to facilitate understanding of clinical practice guidelines, mental health issues, readjustment issues and psychosocial issues facing caregivers.
- →Develops and implements outreach programs such as National Family Caregiver Month.
- →The incumbent directly supervises the VA HCS Caregiver Support Coordinator(s) and Program Support Assistant and other interprofessional staff assigned to Caregiver Support Program.
- →Performs the administrative and personnel management function relative to staff supervised including personnel actions, clinical supervision, consultation, work assignments, budget, treatment services, negotiation with other departments, and quality improvement.
- →Responsible for monitoring performance measures at the local, VISN, and Central Office levels; providing responses to congressional inquiries; and briefings to providers, VA Leadership, community organizations and other internal and external stakeholders.
- →The incumbent may provide clinical interventions to the Veteran and caregiver populations served by the programs.
- →Serves as subject matter expert to VA Facility leadership and staff for all CSP related issues and serves as a consultant to other VA Professionals and administrators on program specific activities.
- →The incumbent manages CSP clinical and business operations, accountability for program effectiveness, and modification of service patterns to comply with the delivery of standardized processes found within Directive 1152(1).
- →Develops a system to identify family caregivers served by the VA facility including caregivers in the catchment area not enrolled in CSP.
- →Manages all aspect of the PFCAFC and he PGCSS to ensure eligible caregivers have awareness and access to the national Caregiver Support Line (CSL).
