About the Role
The Housing and Urban Development/VA Supported Housing (HUD-VASH) Program Coordinator at the Chalmers P. Wylie VA Medical Center has significant personnel management responsibilities for professional and non-professional staff. The HUD-VASH Program Coordinator is responsible for the professional and administrative management of HUD-VASH team members.

- →The HUD-VASH Program Coordinator supervises employees to accomplish the work of the unit.
- →Incumbent provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs and opportunities for assigned staff.
- →The HUD-VASH Program Coordinator establishes guidelines and performance expectations for staff that are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system.
- →The incumbent evaluates subordinate's performance and offers instruction, advice and coaching on social work and administrative matters.
- →The incumbent is responsible for monitoring social work practice standards and guidelines on documentation, workload, data entry, ethical practice and service delivery.
- →The incumbent participates in the development of functional statements/positions descriptions and performance plans/ standards for social workers.
- →Incumbent is also responsible for program reports to VISN and VACO for the coordinated programs.
- →Serves on the Social Work Service Leadership Team, taking an active role in implementing and supporting service-related priorities, initiatives and committee participation.
- →The incumbent conducts and participates in outreach activities including field interviews, assessments and referrals for homeless Veterans contacted in the community, shelters and on the streets, as well as those who are referred by VA residential programs and facilities.
- →The incumbent maintains current and establishes new relationships with other community-based service providers for the homeless, and when appropriate, represents VA at community service provider meetings.
- →The incumbent must be eligible to drive veterans in a GSA vehicle.
- →Requires significant travel within the community requiring a valid driver's license.
- →Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Requirements
- ✓You must be a U.S.

- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
