About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

What You'll Do

  • →The Social Worker Program Coordinator is a member of a Behavioral Health Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) team model and provides clinical social work services in outpatient mental health clinic setting.
  • →The incumbent plays an active role on this team which meets weekly to review and discuss clinical cases within the mental health clinic.
  • →The health care and psychosocial needs of this population are complex and require a high degree of independence, case management, clinical oversight and creative problem solving.
  • →The incumbent is accountable for clinical program effectiveness and modification of service patterns.
  • →The incumbent works in close collaboration with the outpatient mental health clinical nurse manager, social work, psychiatrists and psychologists to coordinate patient care.
