About the Role

The San Francisco VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS) is recruiting for a full time Social Worker Program Coordinator, Education and Training, Quality Management, Safety, Clinical Competency, and Social Worker Internship Program in the Social Work Service. This position is responsible for independent management, coordination, and maintenance of these complex and varied programs for Social Work Service, in accordance with the goals and mission for Social Work Service and the VA Medical Center.

  • Perform work related to the review, monitoring, analysis, planning and assessment of various program; 2.
  • Responsible for key project activities related to the planning, development, and implementation of the project component; 3.
  • Use sound judgement in the interpretation of trends and patterns; the application of guidelines; and the recommendation of program enhancements; 4.
  • Coordinate and manage of all Social Work Service Educational and training endeavors; 5.
  • Coordinate of quality management measures and administering information and analytical systems to evaluate and enhance the quality of service provided to patients; 6.
  • Responsible to coordinating intern placement in Social Work Service through coordinating placement sites and field instructions, planning and leading the intern training group, serving as liaison to graduate school coordinators, staff, and interns; coordinating disciplinary actions reviews as needed, and managing intern stipend funds; 7.
  • Provide oversight of accreditation process by assuring all programs are knowledgeable of and are meeting standards related to CARF, Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies; 8.
  • Assure safety of staff by serving as the SWS Emergency Management Coordinator, attending the appropriate facility meetings, providing trainings to staff regarding emergency management and safety, assisting in developing and maintain a safety risk assessment program; 9.
  • Provide orientation for new hire employees and complete the new hire on-boarding process 10.
