About the Role
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SEXUAL ASSAULT RESPONSE COORDINATOR (SARC), Position Description Number PDT5921000 and is part of the Joint Force Headquarters, Wyoming National Guard. This position is in the Excepted Service "under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, and Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA)". This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position. Military affiliation is not required.
What You'll Do
- →This position is in the Wyoming Army National Guard's Joint Force Headquarters at the Brigade (BDE) level in a Congressionally mandated Independent Review Commission on Sexual Assault in the Military (IRC) funded position.
- →The Sexual Assault Response Coordinator (SARC) is the single point of contact to coordinate response activities when a sexual assault is reported within their area of responsibility (AOR).
- →Responsible for assigning, monitoring, managing, and documenting victim assistance and advocacy activities performed by the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response (SAPR) Victim Advocates (VA) at the tactical (e.g., command) level, SARCs will serve as team leads for SAPR VA teams.
- →SARCs are authorized to perform sexual assault victim advocate duties and will provide a non-clinical response that is trauma-informed, gender-responsive, culturally competent, and recovery-oriented.
- →SARCs will report to, be supervised, and evaluated by, and have direct and unimpeded access to the Supervisory Principal SARC.
- →SARCs will also have direct and unimpeded access to the Commander when acting on behalf of the Supervisory Principal SARC or when a victim is experiencing a safety issue.
- →The purpose of the work is to administer the BDE SAPR program including assigning, monitoring, and overseeing the work of the SAPR VAs.
- →The incumbent's case management oversight affects the disposition and outcome of individual cases, the adequacy of the response capability provided to the serviced population, and the completeness and accuracy of information to be used by installation leadership in altering organizational practice.
Requirements

- ✓This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
- ✓Paid through Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer (DD/EFT).
- ✓Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- ✓GS-0101-12 positions are within the professional series IAW 5 USC §3319, and compensably disabled preference eligible veterans (CPS/CP) are not automatically placed at the top of the Certificate of Eligibles (5 USC §3313).
- ✓Eligibles will be listed in score order, including veterans' preference points.
- ✓May be required to successfully complete a two-year trial period.
- ✓Recruitment/Relocation Incentives ARE NOT authorized.
- ✓PCS costs are not authorized.
- ✓Must be willing to relocate at own expense if selected. 1.
- ✓Within 60 days of appt to a Position of Trust and Moderate Risk; must have a favorable completion and award of a Tier 3 background investigation and continuously maintain duties and responsibilities as a SAPR Professional. 2.
- ✓Within six months of appointment, must graduate from required SAPR training courses and be awarded the Defense Sexual Assault Advocate Certificate Program (D-SAACP). 3.
- ✓Must maintain an active D-SAACP certification as a condition of employment. 4.
