About the Role
Provides onsite and tele-mental health care for Veterans with moderate to severe mental health concerns in an interdisciplinary recovery-focused program. Performs assessment, diagnosis, crisis/same-day care, evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy, treatment planning, consults, suicide-risk evaluation, case management, referrals, documentation, peer review, policy input, and consultation, mentoring, and supervision for staff and students.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but aren't limited to the following: Provide onsite and tele-mental health services to Veterans with moderate to severe mental health concerns.
- →Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy in individual, family, and group settings.
- →Assess, diagnose, and treat mental health disorders within approved clinical privileges or scope of practice.
- →Engage in walk-in and same-day mental health services for Veterans experiencing a crisis.
- →Independently identify high-risk patients and provide clinical or case management services as needed.
- →Evaluate and mitigate suicide risk, including C-SSRS, Comprehensive Suicide Risk Evaluation, Safety Plans, and SBOR documentation when indicated.
- →Develop and modify treatment plans with Veterans and families based on goals, needs, and response to care.
- →Identify psychosocial and contextual factors contributing to patient challenges and make differential diagnoses when required.
- →Complete consults to support continuity of mental health care.
- →Use measurement-based care tools such as GAD-7 and PHQ-9 to screen, diagnose, monitor, and measure outcomes.
- →Provide consultation to treatment teams, staff, colleagues, and students on psychosocial needs and BHIP treatment.
- →Teach, mentor, and supervise staff and students, including supervision for licensure or specialty certification.
- →Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure appropriate handoff during transfers of care.
- →Maintain knowledge of Veterans' benefits, services, community resources, and referral processes.

- ✓Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
